Gunitasamuccayah: Factor-Sum Relationship

Gunitasamuccayah is associated with relationships between factors and sums in selected algebraic expressions. The worked example shows how the relationship can support factorisation.

Apply the relationship to factorisation

For x² + 5x + 6, look for two numbers whose product is 6 and whose sum is 5. The pair 2 and 3 gives (x + 2)(x + 3).
